front bumper support removal
how exactly do you take off the front bumper support? is there any reason for it to be there besides safety and weight? any help would be appreciated
there are two screws in each wheel well that need to be removed, then take out the rectangle parking lights, then there will be two 14 mm bolts on each side, you can take them out, then you lift the bumper up, off two little tabs then it is off the car, then to remove it from the bumper cover you have to remove the screws off the top of it.. if you want to remove it for weight reasons you can make a new support out of 1/2" angle iron, i did it works good, and it took off like 10 pounds from my hatch
Might take a second thought on removing it. If you were ever in an wreck, it could come back an haunt you. If the insurance company ever found out about it, then alot of liability issues could arise out of it. Espeically if someone was hurt or killed...

the car is going to be race only in a couple of monthes, i have thought about that over and over again in my head and i am not concerned with it, but thanks anyway for the advice.
dont take it out unless your going to take ur car to the fabricator to have some brackets welded on so u can still screw on the bumper...i took mine off my crx and you have to hold on the bumper with zip ties in the front, it kinda sags.

i posted it in my orriginal post, you have to "frame" it out with some type of metal, i used a peice of 1/2" angle iron i got from Home Depot, i just made a
\____/ shape comin goff the front of the car, then screwed the cover to the top of it, then used two more small peices, one for each side to hold the bottom in place, looks factory, and saved about 10 pounds maybe a little more
nice weight saving mod, btu like posted above i wouldnt suggest it on a street car, even thought thats what i did it on
