My Ebay Special Spoon Sports Header.
A couple of weeks ago, there was a BRAND NEW spoon sports header up for bids on ebay with a buy it now of $750. Well, since I don't have a whole lot of money right now, I made a bid of $600 just to see if the reserve was quite that low. It wasn't and at the end of the auction, the winner had won the header for $700. Anyway, to make a long story short, the winning bidder fell through and I was given an ebay second chance to buy the header at my original bid of $600 plus a gouged shipping charge of $69
. Either way this excellent deal was too good not to jump on, the seller had over 60 positive feedbacks and no negatives, and I just turned 21 a couple weeks ago so I figured it is my b-day present to myself.
The header showed up yesterday, brand spanking new! Never even unwrapped out of the blue wrapping. Came with gaskets and everything that should come with a brand new spoon sports header. I was soooo pumped. Not only this, but I also spent the first half of yesterday and some of the night before working on my full detail (10 hours or so 2 times a year) so the ITR was looking immaculate.
After 4 hours of hard work and the help of a drive on lift, air tools, and any snap on tool you can think of thanks to Offut Airforce base, my friend Jay and I were done with the install. It wasn't too bad but still tough considering this is a first time header install for the both of us. I can't imagine it being fun though without the lift and airtools (If any of you have access to a military base, I highly recommend taking advantage of using their skills shop). So I paid my $12 for 4 hours of garage time and here is the final result.
The drive after was definitely very anticipated and quite fun. Power was noticeably improved throughout the powerband and I feel the most power increase on the butt dyno between 4k-6k rpm. The sound is also just slightly louder and meaner than stock. The power feel like it is more "on tap" or "right there". I guess to better explain that, I feel the car reacts a little quicker or better than before when I blip the throttle. Overall I am super happy with the header. Now I can't wait to remove that tiny *** bottleneck on the stock exhaust. Not really sure if I'll remove it or just wait to buy T1R or fujitsubo exhaust. Either way its gonna go away eventually. It definitely must hold back some gains.

1. Got BRAND NEW spoon header on ebay for $680 shipped due to initial winner flaking.
2. Turned 21 a week ago, this is my present to me
(girlfriend got me helms manual and spoon shift **** as well as other goodies)
3. Installed spoon header with carsound cat ( My first header install is a success
)
4. If you have access to a Military I highly recommend taking advantage of their automotive skills shop. Less than $3 an hour and they have almost any SNAP ON tool you could need, Lifts, and airtools
5. I love the header. It is a beautiful piece and provides nice gains.
6. Oops, left some polish on there

Very nice, VERY CLEAN~! what do you use when you bust your FULL DETAIL? i always used Simple green. Thats very nice.
Unfortunately not but while speaking of detailing, heres what I did. Luckily my friend Jay enjoys detailing car so he usually does the interior.
But heres what I did to the paint.
1. Washed with Meguiars
2. Claybarred for 3 hours
(hate this damn step but worth the time)
3. 3m swirl remover for light colored cars.
4. 3m imperial hand glaze
5. 3 coats of klasse sealant glaze
6. 1 coat of blitz carnuaba wax
Yeah, I like detailing and im on spring break so I finally have time to do it.
Edit: I also use simple green. Fast and easy

Hey, slightly OT, but who sells the fujitsubo exhaust? I've now heard the name a few times and am starting to get curious. What kind of pipe diameter and muffler design does it use? 2.5inch & straight through?
Man your pics are huge.Nice car though and pretty awesome deal.
Sorry guys about the big pics
. Just got my digital camera and accidentaly took pictures on the largest setting
nice score
my Sp00ge header looks like hell compared to that thing...and its only been driven on the street twice. I could use some of that "blue be gone" crap.
