Anyone Painted 94-97 tail lights all red?
I am about to take out my tail lights to replace the gaskets, is there anything I could do to paint the amber part red? i already have some red glass paint to use, any ideas/thoughts/suggestions? thanks everyone
yeah, just mask off the white portion where the reverse light is. then use some crystal red glass paint, which you have already. then use a clear coat over that. I havent done it myself but have seen photos of people of have and it turned out great. And if you dont like it, you can always remove the paint. Good luck
Amber is where its at man.
no need to paint the whole thing, just paint the amber with some translucent candy apple red, this is what i did before i switched to 98 tails:

gsxr, how did you go about painting them, just tape off the area and paint?
electric tape, its the easiest tape to use to bend/stretch around the edges and whatnot, after you do that, just tape up some newspaper around everything else.
by edges, im referring to where the red and amber meet.

go to your local market and buy "oven off" it's a cleaning agent used to remove grease from stove tops, spray it on your tail light and let it sit for a few min, and wipe off
no fogging up of the lense, of course i dont know the effects of it on car paint is, so i suggest you remove the tail lights before hand.
