teg owners...do you keep your A/C and P/S?
Ive already got my spare out, removing the A/C and P/S would lose some weight, and Ive hear rumors of adding a lil power as well?
Any suggestions?
Or just keep the luxuries and enjoy the drive

Man im all about having the luxuries. Its such a good claim to say street tires, leather interior, a/c, p/s, cruise control...etc when you pull off a sick time. I love it.

get an engine swap if you haven't already.
no offense..but what's the use of removing those luxuries...
if i had a choice though i'd remove the a/c over the PS....
if yer gonna remove the PS might as well get a manual rack or
whatever...
i have my A/C belt removed and i felt the difference on the butt dyno..
if you remove just your power steering belt it will be a b!tch to steer
because you will be trying to steer against all that PS fluid that's in
there still.....
Haha I do own a civic, but this is about my 97' GSR
The civic is fun for a SOHC vtec, she was my 1st car
But then again, we all grow up...So did my taste, hence the teg
Conclusion: Bye bye A/C, keepin the P/S
Thx for help

Keep it in. Power steering really makes like easier... especially in the parking lots. AC is a very nice feature... especially in the Summer time.

No P/S: I definitely feel more "connected" to the road. But damn....parallel parking is a major pita. You do get used to driving around without it after a couple of day though.
If you're all about whp/performance and want to exercise your arms daily, take off P/S. But seriously though, 16lbs can be saved elsewhere.. hood, seats, spare tire....etc.

bah...my car is slow.
there is no need to take away a few vital amenities to make it a tad less slow.

As long as it holds up on the autocross track and gets me back and forth, I'll take the amenities all day, every day. Maybe if I had a race car, but not a street driven, daily driver.
i live in maryland and when its 110 degrees outside and 100 humidity and my ***** are swimming around in my pants like its pool time at day camp, i LOVE my a/c....also chick hate getting there hair messed up......def a plus w/ the females to have the luxury of a/c
my teg will keep the P/S and A/C...
...my crx on the other hand is a different story...
unless the car is a purpose built race car...keep the stuff in

just lose some weight fat ***.

seriously my opinion would be just to leave it in. you almost need power steering for city driving and parking lots. depending on where you live, the A/C might not matter; but I live in Seattle and during the summer, A/C is still a must, even here. It's not really worth it. Like someone else before me said, people (girls in specific) will be more likely to ride with you if you got A/C.

I dont care how fast a car is. Unless it has p/s or a/c i'm not driving it.
Others might disagree but to each their own.
And what about the bitches! When you ride one around town you gotta have the a/c. The wont stop complaning unless you have it blasting freezing cold air or something.
No ps or ac here. The ac is out cause the 3rd pulley busted on the old engine and I didn't feel like transferreing it over and it hasnt reached 9000 degrees just yet here in texas, the ps will stay off, I like it much better with out it. You get used to it and I guess you cant pimp around in parking lots anymore, but it makes up for it in the rain and corners when you can actually tell your tires are jumping off the edge of adhesion.
haha kept all the luxuries.. stereo system, leather, and I had my p/s and a/c... my ex-gf wouldn't have it any other way otherwise she'd be complaining... she would say that the A/C in my car sux in the 100 degree CA heat in anything but the highest setting... plus it was my daily driver to work (30 mi)... it would suck in the summer w/o A/C I'm used to coastal weather...
well i live in fl i would def leave the ac when it gets 100+ in the summer whiich sucks anyway p/s i mean if its cheap 1.2 hp if your car is fast u wont be able to feel the diffrence excpet in your arms and if your car is slow you got 1.2 hp i would def get rid of the p/s in a hatch but in a integra maybe if i was bored
I lost my power steering and A/C. And I put a Civic Type R crank pulley on to lose some more weight, and I love it. Much better feel for the road, and a very noticable power gain in the first few gears.
