ok i have first gen b16 that has gone bad (pretty much blown but runnin slow) i'm getttin a type R now. what is the parts i nee to do the swap. like mounts and can i slap my jdm cable tranny to the motor so i don't have to switch to hydro trans ( i think you can cause its b series) so please help me out wit the info and of course i'm switch it to obd 1
You can use all the mounts and shiftlinkage and tranny off your b16.
Along with your alternator and starter.
If you are going to switch to 0bd-1 you need to run a chipped computer. Like a chipped p28 or maybe a chipped p61.
My friend has a bad *** erics racing chipped p61. Jdm gsr motor with thin head gasket and ITR tranny with that ecu went 12.2 in a 1993 cx hatch with full interior and it had 22" slicks..
get your self a good ecu once you do the swap. but search around and you will find plenty of info

i am putting type r into my 91 sedan and keeping it obd0 with pr3 and rest of b16 electronics and putting that package together (slowly) now...i may be able to help with little bits as i figure them out....
pr3 will be shatty with that itr motor.. not enough fuel and stuff for the higher rpm ranges.. just get a mugen chipped computer they are cheap enough

im running an itr swap in an 88. hood clearance is only prob with valve cover. need sir or just beat the hell out of the stock for further sleep options. engine fits nicely otherwise. need to get small fluidyne cause the fan wont fit. kenja in FL makes conversion harnesses and hondata chips ecus quite nicely.
