i just got my b16 running and when i put the car in reverse i get a check engine light and the car sputters only in reverse...if i start the car and just never put it in reverse the light never comes on...only when it goes in reverse. does anyone know what could be causing this? im getting a code 6 which is coolant temp sensor and i dont think that has anything to do with this. feel free to IM or email me at b16hf@aol.com. thanks a lot

By any chance do you have any wires mixed up ? I have heard of people messing up the wiring with the reverse lights.

 

long shot but maybe a grounding problem

 

Let me guess, do you have an HF or dx? or a non si? I had the same problem. Couldnt really figure it out. But whenever i put it in reverse/ it got real crazy, cel came on and it sputtered like no other.. What i did was disconnect the reverse lights and it solved the problem.. No reverse lights.. but no cel either.
