Default wheel hop

i have 96 integra ls with short ram intake, greddy cat-back, aem cam gears, aem underdrive pulleys, accell 8mm wires, act clutch and indigo speed flywheel. When i rev up to 2500 to 3000 rpms and take off the car sits their and jumps and then finally takes off. someone said it could be the motor mounts. where could i get a set for a good price.

before you go and buy engine mounts, check your tire pressures or look into better tires... I went from kumho 711 to azenis and my wheel hop is completely gone going into 2nd gear, and I have to rev over 6k to wheel hop in first.

A major thing that causes wheel hop is bad/worn down bushings, so, look into getting some polyurethane bushings. Also, I'm not sure if anyone makes one, but a front lower crossmember is supposed to eliminate all wheel hop. Motor mounts wouldn't hurt either. If you have enough power/torque, wheel hop can cause crank walk...which can cause bad things to happen.

Oh, here's a link to a DSM website which explains some wheel hop issues/solutions.

my buddy has energy suspesion motor mounts in his eg hybrid and works excellent. starting first gear, the wheel just spins without wheel hop, and when he pulls right into 2nd, sticks right down to the ground but still hear tire spins also. all he really needs now is maybe some nt555 drag radial and see if it sticks more to the ground without wheel spin. i have a teg gsr myself and i deal with tire spinning and wheel hopping. i need to invest into motor mounts, nt555's, good clutch, maybe JDM 4-1 headers, work on my 0-60 ft and hopefully get it down too 2.1 sec and hopefully pull mid - high 14's .

thanks for the help. going to try this soon. about the front lower crossmember, i thought it was only for racing, and my car is a daily driver. has anyone tried these?
does it change the way the car drives?

Yes, check your tire pressure first. If that isnt the issue, motor mount and suspension inserts help greatly. My tires roll smooth now with no jumping during wheelspin.

Engine mount bushing cost about like 60 bux so could get some of those along with your tires.

However the time to put them in will be a pain staking process.

enjoy.

are u rolling on stock suspension? Wheel hop sometimes occurs when u don't rev high enough and the tires slip and grip. I get that too on my 01 GSR but only if i dont' rev enough. if i rev around 3000 or 4000, it's all good. When u launch at 2000, do u floor it? Cause when u launch at that rpm, ur car jolts slightly and if u floor it right away, it usually hops cause u already caused the first hop...(hmm somehow i don't think i'm saying this right. haha) Anyways, try launchin at 3500 or 4000 rpm and see if it does the same thing.

shitty tires can be an issue, but i went and got z10bars, es motor mount inserts, and coilovers, it helps alot, but i could use better tires and shocks too .
