this guy is sellin me a set of 16 inch 7 inch wide 2001 miata rims, they look sweet in my opinion, i know ill get hated some but how much?

Make sure the offset is correct because I tried to use a set of 90-91 miata wheels and they didn't fit right onto the hub of my crx. But on the other hand, things might be different since you're talking about the 2001 model.

 

hub is different than offset.. you can drill out the centers to fit..

i want a set of the first gen miata mesh wheels.. like 10-12 lbs, 14x6..

 

Funny you should talk about miata wheels, i was gonna get a set about 3 months ago. Go for it, they would look good.

 

1) OEM 16" Miata wheels are 16x6.5
2) The centerbore is diff on earlier gen. Miata wheels, and that's why it doesn't fit Civic/CRX. Again, not sure about 2k1s.

 

what exactly is the offset, and if it doesnt match how do i bore it out?

 

o yeh, are you sure they are 16 x 6.5 , cuz the tires on them are 205/40/16 isnt that 7 in wide? oh, if they are 7 they will rub cuz im slammed, but how could i make them not rub, roll my fenders? im raisin it bout .5 or 1 inch when i put them on w/ my new shocks, 89 accord fronts for more travel! yeahhh

 

it's a 40mm offset. It should fit if the centerbore is the same. If not, find a machine shop that has a big lathe or Bridgeport machine, -or- you can try it yourself with a dremel.

The tires are 205/45/16, and I am sure they are 16x6.5

ok, i think rex offset is 34, im pretty sure it is, but i dont know what that is so it doesnt matter, but if it doesnt fit, what do i need to dremel or whatever. is it the middle little circle? like how some wheels have a center caP/? aahh jeez im stupid.

 

I personally like the little 14" 7 spoke "teeny RX7" wheels from about 94-95... They look great on CRX's and cars that want strock size wheels for autox.

Dude, centerbore is not the same as offset. Anyway, if it doesn't fit, open up the centerbore (or as you put it, "the little middle circle") of the Miata wheels to the size found on your CRX wheels.

BTW, I was just joking about the dremel, I wouldn't really recommend it unless you have really steady hands.

 

I had the miata wheels on my car that look like mini panasports. They where pretty nice and good for autoX.

 

if they dont have mazda or anything written on em they might look ok, but its up to what you like not really what anyone else thinks.

 

how did the offset treat you with those rims, im not tryin to have any rubbing problems, and i have a spare set at my disposal

 

I had problems with trying to fit the miata rims on my rex way back when... The center of the miata hub was smaller than the honda... I eneded up selling the rims... but to wonder, how did you guys fit the rims on...

 

$10 and a trip to the machine shop later....

 

ok im stupid, very stupid, what is the offset of wheels, and if the rex is 34mm i think....and miata is 40mm what does that difference mean?
