ATS Post-Install Question...
Ok, I just finished with the ATS installation...which went without a hitch with the help of D's phone tech support from O-town. (Again, thanks for explain all that chit).
Everything is perfect, but there is a funny sound (almost like a whiney gear spin down sound) coming from the tranny when I am at light throttle in any gear around the 3,000-4,000 RPM range...is the typical? I don't think that there is anything wrong with the installation, just because everything went so smooth....thanks for the input!

gear whine is normal with that f.d. Anybody who rides in my car always ask "whats that noise?"
just curious..
if there's noise, can it mean the gear mesh is a little off which will eventually wear something down?
does anyone know if other fd's do it too?

's to silquin...the human tranny lift!We did have two casulaties...
1). A bolt under the tranny support...oh-well
2). My STARTER! Didn't really need/expect to do a starter overhaul, but what the hell. We accidentally disconnected the 8mm holding rods for the starter and CHIT...it all came apart! I have to say, it was a freakin bizzatch getting the thing back together....those of you out there my know what I'm talking about....(and yes...it fell COMPLETELY appart).

Is tranny whine normal with the stock transmission? I notice it in 1st and second gear when I let off the throttle at low rpm. You guys got me wondering. I asked this question before and nobody really knew. TIA
