exhast hanger
is it ok to put metal exhast hangers to secure the pipe and the muffler, so there isn't alot of movement? i heard people use these hangers to align the pipe and the muffler when the muffler or the pipe is out of place, is this true? does it help?

Can you clearify your question? I'm kind of confused. If you're not sure about what you want, you should just go to a muffler shop and have them look at what you "want" to do and work from there. Usually, an exhaust system consists of mainly 2 parts; the piping, and the muffler. Usually, 2 hangers are on the muffler, and I believe 1 on the piping to keep it from movement.
Perhaps we can help you out more if you can clearify what you're trying to do.

i just want to know that if my muffler is hitting the bumper, do i use one of these mounts to align it, so the muffler would hit and keep it from moving
i do have 2 of the hangers but my muffler is rattling with my bumper, i was told that welding one of these heavy duty hanger can help re-align the muffler alittle. If i weld it on, would it hurt anything?
thx
