Suspension/Coilovers Where and What to buy?
Hey guys i did a search but didnt find anything too helpful.
Ill be buying a new suspension setup in the next couple of weeks and was just planning on going with GC with Koni reds and skunk2 front camber kit. Lately ive been thinking that coilovers wouldnt cost too much more than that set up and might be worth the money.
So here are the Questions:
1. What are some good coilovers that you guys have and how do you like them(also how much $ where they )
2. I was thinking about Tein or Tanabe and possibly H&R, are the lower level set ups any good? Are there any problems that they seem to have?
3. With coilover set ups do i need a camber kit, or pillow ball mounts? What is the difference?
Im looking at possibly spending around $1000 so give me some ideas on some decent set ups, keeping in mind i want to have adjustable ride hieght, and adj. dampening would be nice but is not really needed. BTW this IS my daily driver so i want something somewhere in the middle of performance and comfort.
thanks

i'm using the bilstein/neuspeed coilovers on my eg hatch. i got them for under a grand. even tho the struts aren't adjustable the damnpening is perfect for the springs and it rides great. I also love how the springs are preloaded when the wheels are off the floor even with out a helper spring. that way u don't get the spring flooping around when u lift up the car or when the wheels come off the ground. i also have used progress coilovers aswell and they worked very well. They aren't adjustable dampening, but you can easily revalve them, put thicker oil, and u can buy custom rate hypercoils for them which is cool.
I just got done installing these onto my car http://www.apexsuspension.com/gb/index_gb.html
They are the "Apex Racing series coilovers".
I like them alot, I put them on a 94 civic coupe along with front and rear ITR swaybars, it handles so good now and the ride is really nice. Just my opinion. Good Luck
