mystery LED on dash??
Right between my rear defrost and hazard buttons is a red led which never comes on. I havnt seen another integra with a similar led and was wondering if anyone out there had one like it and what it is for?
I checked my service manual and didnt find anyhting out about it. Thanks in advance

the funny thing is it doesnt look cheaply done at all. i thought it was a factory installed option when i bought the car. I'll take a look under the hood tomarrow morning. Also, do you know where the keyless entry receiver is installed on the Integra? I heard it was in the steering column but im not sure.
I have a mystery LED too. It doesn't light up or anything. Just sits there looking odd.
I pulled that **** out and stuffed all the wiring back behind my panels. (too lazy to find out where it went).

I had that mystery led also when i bought my car 2nd hand, but it was infront of my steeringwheel. I stumbled upon the conrol box located underneath my seat. I went to Acura asking if there was a remote for it. They claimed acura never made an alarm system....but then why would the box have acura all over it?
That LED is most likely for an alarm. Or the previous owner could of put a LED without an alarm, just as a deterrant.
BTW, your sig says that you have a 2000 GSR, but I swear a I see an automatic shift **** in the picture.

its an led for an alarm. look in your engine bay and see if you can find the rest of the alarm, like the horn and stuff. the person before you prob installed an alarm and lost the remote. you can go to like circuit city or best buy or where ever and they can reprogram you a new remote.
if you dont find the horn and stuff, the person before you couldve removed the whole alarm system but left the led light and just bought a new one for them selves.

That's an LED for an alarm. Mine is installed in the exact same place. Look under the hood for the siren. You may also look under the dash for the brain.
like everyone else says.. its probably an alarm LED.. the previous owner probably either yanked the alarm and sold it on ebay... or he just lost the remote and didn't give it to the dealer when he sold/traded in the car...
you can look under your dash to see if you see the alarm brain/control module... most people just get a basic install and its right up under the dash.... you can also look to see if you see the alarm siren under the hood... if not.. look along the fender and firewall area to see if there are any holes drilled (where the sired USED to be ..before the previos owner yanked the alarm to sell it or whatever)...
