problem with b18

Default problem with b18

problem starting b18a1 in 89 crx si we had it running a few day's ago now after we get everything installed like axles shift linkage exc.. it wont get spark. first problem was the thing on the dist. cap broke and it wasnt getting spark that way but now with a new car it still dosnt get spark engine turns over fine but just wont get any spark

checked power to dist and its getting power.
even put a dizzy on from another b18a1 still no luck.
dont think we really did anything diff then we had it last week when it was running

any help would be appricated.

Do you know for sure that the other dist was good?
Did you test the ignition module?

no i dont know for shure but because there is power to the dist when you turn the key to the on position does that mean that somthing in the dist. is bad??

I'd check your fuse box and see if your ignition switch fuse is blown, it should be #39

If power is getting to the dist but not leaving it, then thats where I would start.

Follow the directions in the manual on how to test the ignition module and the coil.

problem solved it was ground always check your grounds!!!! we had tranny-frame-batt and valve cover to frame but didnt have valve cover to batt and the dist wasnt getting ground im shure there is another way to run it but it works for now
