get it, I dont think you will regret getting a cai for 29.99. I dont think anyone would turn that kind of price down for a cai. Sure its generic. but..honestly...who cares lol.

I got a cai intake for 50 bucks..and I wish I could have gotten it for 29.99 lol. on me.

 

30 bucks is good for an CAI. Thats what I did for a while. But you do get what you pay for. a big thing in CAI performance is the heat and such. These CAI are generic and tests will prove AEMs are better. and there legal. so yeah, its a good deal. but I would pay for an AEM, cause there proven better and legal

 

i think all cai are all the same except the filter (k&n are proven to gain hp )

why don't u just make one your self

the good thing about aem is the carb sticker

 

i dont live in cali so legality issues are not of any concern. i already have a KN filter ready for it, i just wanted the tubing with the hardware. i am thinking about using that intake wrap on it. anyone know where to get some?

ok think of it this way... if i gave you 29.99 would you be able to make me one of those in the exact same quality? i doubt it... so go for it, its worth it

thats how i look at it when i see a cheap and good deal. well not all the time, sometimes you get what you pay for though. but i'm sure you can go wrong with an intake

 

now the question is.....what will fit better?

99-00 Si or 94-01 LS???

i have heard that the SI one will fit through the stock airbox hole and not go under the core support

 

mines not a cold air but i picked it up for 12 bucks from ebay.

the filter is a peice of **** though, but now my hx really sounds like it has some *****

 

intake is an intake. they all have that piping and they all look the damn same so who cares about name brand.

 

If you have a friend with an AEM one would you mind doing a comparison on the inner diameter of the piping compared to the eBay one?

I think that would help us all out.

 

NO! what the hell are you thinking!! only buy AEM, Ingen or Iceman! you have to pay at least $200 jeezz!!!


jk.. i'd get it.. my friend has one and its fine. its an aluminum tube, i doubt there will be that much of a difference. maybe throw a K&N on there for good measure

oh and the diameter of my friends generic intake was the same as AEM, so you could put a bypass valve on there if you wanted to.

that would be my only concern. but if it fits...how different can cai's be? not very. not worth spending the 165 for an AEM new. i buy my intake's used or on ebay. save yourself the money.

So, if you have a generic CAI you will have difficulty passing California smog? I need to smog my car soon and I have a generic CAI. I don't see what the difference is really...
