Default quick question concerning buying a GS-R

a milano red 99 gs-r w/ 44k miles on it. dealership said they can do $14.6k (w/ 4.9% apr for 60 months)
also, its acura certified (does that mean anything?).

you think that's fair?

That doesn't seem to be too bad of a deal considering most dealerships. You might want to see if they can go a little lower. Of course once you see the perfect one you just fall in love and can't pass it up. As for the financing that doesn't mean anything because it's all done through American Honda. They have a special deal for there used cars so you can find that anywhere. I paid 18k for my 00 GSR with 35,000 miles. However it was at a very nice dealership in a rich city. They probably mark them because they know people will pay. Hope that helps.

thanks for the reply.

does the "acura certified" mean anything? (as in, should i even consider that as a factor in comparing other deals?)

and i can only get the financing if i buy from a dealership, right? or can i get the same financing if i went through a private seller?

private seller=bank loan
dealership=loan through a dealership....still a bank but not quite the same.

as far as acura certified its good but i wouldnt invest myself into that claim of excellence b/c regardless the used car bus. is rough tough and tumble.....chk the carfax and you should be straight.

Thats about right, I paid 11,500 for my 97 gsr with the same mileage. The person I bought it from also had factory warranty still on it so I got that transferred.

i know the acura certified, you get an additional 1 year warranty.. but is that worth it?

carfax doesn't tell you everything. my cousin has an si that have had 2 hydrolocks and 1 accident, and carfax doesn't mention those.

thanks for the replies

in some cases acura certified only means that someone took 10 mins out of their day to give the car a visual once-over, with no real checking....
if the dealership lets you, definetly take it to ur mechanic.
