Default Tyres and temporary repairs

Did you know that plugs or temporary repairs will reduce a Z rated tyre to less than 50 MPH? You gotta toss em once poked.

I knew that you shouldn't patch a motorcycle tire but I never knew it was that bad. Guess I better throw out my old reliable stars that have several patches in em. JK

I patched mine and then wondered so looked at the specs in the manual. Chaparral is sending me a new BATTLAX BT010 180/55zr17 now

Got the B010 installed this Saturday. Quite difference in ride. Much better control over rough roads and much better in turns than the BE57 which the B010 replaces. Some of my friends said I should have gone for a 200/50/17. I'm not sure about that.

I haven't had a lot of luck changing tire size and improving performance. The 207GP I have on my bike are a little taller in front than stock. I was told this would be an improvement, however I am not sure. The bike is much slower to transition when the tires are cold, but once I get them warmed up they feel great. So I am not sure if it is the profile or the cold tire that I don't like.

That is one wide a$$ tire!
