g/f is thinkimg about buying one?? any info would help... how are the motors? do they seem to have a long life etc?

 

stay away from the 5 series w/ the first v8 put in them - 540I i believe (94 - 95?!?). My dad had one and just traded it in last year for a 745I. BMW messed up on these motors and are disasters waiting to happen. Engines knocks and pings and ****.

well are you looking for 3,5,7 there is 8 too, but expensive even though they are used.

if 3 series, then go for 325, or 328i, they are the four doors and two doors, but they are the inline 6 models, not the i4 model. and you know they dont have problems with pinging, maybe that person's dad was an exception, but they run great and last a long time. hence they high resale value.

And it's a bmw, is like comparing lemon and peach, which one is sweeter.

i would rather have a bmw over my honda anyday.

found a 97 328 i w/ 110K for 10,000
and a 98 328 is w/ 89K for 13,500

is 110K high miles for this car

nope, but just know parts for these cars are more then a honda, but you dont really have to worry about timing belt changes, because run on a chain timing belt.

just make sure that the car has had its maintences done, and oil changes. almost any car can be good past 100,000 miles it just depends how they take care of it.
