96 hatch passenger side FLOODED when it rains ?!
i got a 96 hatch last august and everything seemed perfect. but a couple days ago it was raining pretty hard and my speakers and subwoofer stopped working. when i check the amp that was under the passenger seat it was all wet. and i'm not talking about a little dampness here, but there was actually puddles in my car. has anyone had this problem? do all 96 hatchbacks do this? and is there any chance i would be covered by insurance for my $500 amp?!
i just wanna make sure before i call Honda and my insurance company.
thanks.

i know the 1992-1995 hatches have this problem. i don't if its the same for the ek but the water is leaking from the front windsheild the lower part where the wiper arms are bolted. there is not enought sealent there. that was my problem. hope that helps. some one on this board posted an how to for this but it was for an eg.
It had to have come from the back or the passenger window. My amp is also in the same place but I have never experienced this problem. My back taillamps leak though
so this is not a problem that i could take to honda and let them take care of it for me? i was hoping there was some kind of recall or something for the 96 hatch.
NO ONE had this problem for their EK?

my passenger side is fine..but during hard rain i tend to have a puddle in my spare tire well and REAR passwenger seats. The roof is not discolored so its not coming from there or any of the windows that i can see...it might be the rear hatch seal or tail light. Has anyone had this problem before as well? Sucky thing is that it smells like mold if it becomes real humid a day after there's a puddle...
yep..my car smells like shiet too. i'm afraid mold is going to start growing on the floor of the passenger seat. do you have an EG or EK prophet?

yeah i have the same problem with my eg i thought that it was the front window so i got it replaced and that did nothing for me. so i still have puddle every morning when i go out to my car.
usually from my experiences, it is from the front winshield, usually leaking around the cowl, or from the cowl it's self. you can remove the cowl, pull the silicone, and re-caulk it. this shouldnt take you more than an hour. or take it to a glass shop and let them do it for a small fee.
i am going to put money on where this leak is comming from.
