Default Insurance Gone Up?

I just got my renewal from State Farm in the mail and it went up $43 / 6 months. Nothing has changed and it is designated "pleasure and less than 7500 miles anually" (2nd car). It is now friggen $10 more than my primary vehicle, the WRX! It went up like $50 last time around with no changes. State Farm adjusted rates up for smaller cars and down for SUVs recently.

For this garage queen, I'm now paying more than $1/mile!

Anybody else have their rates jacked up? How about those of you non-State Farmers? I've been with them for about 10 years. Now I'm thinking of shopping elsewhere!

Sounds like your driving record sucks???

I pay $900 a year because mine is considered a "pleasure vehicle."

My insurance has climbed by $500cad a year compared to when I bought it. I also have a higher discount now and it still went up.

State Farm are jacking the rates for everybody. Mine just went up 80 bucks a year for no good reason. I heard that State Farm took a massive hit on the tornado that hit here a while back and now they are going to try to make up for it. F**k State Farm.

have state farm, went up 10.00 per month. called to ask the reason since this is my second vehicle and quote "sees only weekend use"

their answer...company in general is raising rates, we know its not fair but its from the main office not your local insurance agent...**** them...filing a claim to get my *** end repainted and my wing replaced since someone tried to steal it and then switching insurance companies...any other good ones in FL....are geico or progressive any good

Progressive quoted me $980 a year for my R. That's $320 less than State Farm.

I saved over $1400 a year switching to geico from allstate. Plus their online support is nice. You can make changes, view bills, see coverages, etc all there. Changes can be made within a day for online changes or immediately while on the phone. You don't have to wait that long on the phone either.

what i've always heard about geico is their great (cheap) until you need to make a claim and then they are a pain in the *** to deal with.

i'm on SF as well and mine went up in december. then i bought another car and put the R on hibernation. monthly payment went down to something like $78 for a month and then went back up to $103. can't wait to see what it will go to when the R comes out of hibernation.

you could be right as I haven't had to make a claim other than windshield chip repair. We'll see.

Did you remove the coverage when the R was in hibernation? I was thinking of dropping coverage for a few months during the winter since I haven't driven mine since New Years.
