HELP!!! Take a look at this pic!!!
This is regarding my previous thread, found here

I was getting gas today and I look down at my fuel inlet and I look down my fuel pipe. WHOA wait a minute, I don't remember being able to look down the fuel pipe. I always thought there was a swingie door thing there, that gets pushed out of the way when you stick the nozel in. Heres a pic...

If I'm not mistaken there IS suppose to be a swingie door thing there right?! Your not suppose to be able to look down the pipe. Can someone please confirm this with me. If there is in fact a swingie door thing there, WHERE THE **** did mine go?!?!
Im guessing the missing door would explain CEL code 90, which is Evaporative Emission Control System leak detected in the fuel tank area

Wow...nice pic...but anyways, my civic looks like that and I was like wtf...it seems to be doing ok since the cap still releases pressure when opened.
Yes, you are for sure missing the round metal flap. I was thinking that maybe someone was screwing with your car or it just came off and fell down into the tank.

So its completely gone? I remember looking at mine a few months ago and saw the same thing. But the difference was that the flap didn't fall off - rather it was just bent backward and stuck that way. It must've came back down because the flap is back - weird, I know.
maybe just obd2 cars?
and what are those 2 slits for?

So for those that don't have the flap, what year are your cars? Is this a '99 and up thing cuz mines a '98 and I have one.
yea dude i fingered the hole really good, i couldnt feel the flap
just checked my car, 01... doesn't seem to have a flap and checked with my finger also... but lighting was bad cuz its in the garage so maybe it was farther down than my finger could go
hmm, why is it some have them and some dont. i remeber having 1. because i put injector cleaner in once and i remember it flooding over till i stuck the bottle all the way in to open the flap

its not a newer car thing.. cuz i have a 94 LS and i have one. Hmm.. i'd be concerned if you're still gettin that cel. Does the gas cap release pressure when you open it? If you are under warranty, get the dealership to fix it. gluck.
My 94LS has one, My fathers 00GSR did not. His current 03 TL Type S does not have one. I think 00 and newer Honda/Acura did away w/the flap.
