Default Linkage help?

I am wondering if I can use the shift linkage from my 88 CRX. I know I will have to mod it to the proper length. How will it feel?

I think I had a mod'd EF linkage in my previous DX hybrid, however it was oringinally an auto so I had to make the back linkage mount myself. Front to rear the shifting was nice and smooth, but i had an extremely long and spongy throw from side to side. Dunno, I didn't do to good of a job on the back mount, one time it came loose and my shifter fell through the floor!!! That suk'd! Anyway, thanks for any help.
