Don't buy one for bragging rights. With the money you saved from building up your own motor you'll have extra for all the little things, like JDM lighters and ashtrays.

Please tell us what you did to "race out" your B16A if you could please. I own a B16A motor and I'm trying to get some good ideas for racing mine out.

FYI:

A Spoon motor is nothing more than a new JDM Type R motor torn down and rebuilt to Spoon specs and the only thing better is a Spoon head gasket pretty much. It won't put down any crazy-*** numbers and it will be hella expensive because you'll still need everything else for the swap.

Oh and did you mean you'll be going to the track or the strip after school? There is a difference. For drag I'd not buy a Spoon motor, but if you have the money and are serious about road racing the Spoon motor wouldn't be bad at all.

I believe "most" crate motors from JDM tuners are only blueprinted motors with a little tweak thrown in. Remember that they need to ONLY survive a few hours in a race, and then they're torn down and rebuilt to spec over and over again.

What he said....what's the point of buying a full race motor that you may get 10,000 miles (if that) out of before it's rebuild time?

damn man...you must be pretty lucky to have enough money to goto school/college and buy a spoon motor...I'm in college now and barely have anytime to do anything...Nor do i have money to buy anything for the car...Sucks when you have to pay for books

To anyone who is serious enough to buy a full race motor, the rebuild shouldn't be an issue. You can't have full race and daily driven.

There are plenty of shops in the UNITES STATES OF AMERICA that can build you a kickass motor. Best part is, you`ll get support if there is any problems.
