A: is it true that some cutting and welding on the chasis is required
B: what's the best way to run the shifter cables

b. run the cables under the car near the exhaust, then cut a hold right under the cup holders and run the inside the car, then cut another hold for the prelude shifter box.

HCP, you will need to trim it. Otherwise, no 5th gear or reverse.

Yup, the mounts with the HCP a/c bracket will work. You might have to do some fabrication on the PS, and using a 97+ prelude PS line. (which you can use from your car)
For aligning the cables, the proper way of doing it is to put in the motor, install the cables, and pull the cables to where they do not wiggle/dangle around to hit the exhaust, and drill the hole where the original mounting goes.

how long did it take you to do your swap? i have done my share of B series swaps in EGs and Tegs, and have pulled the H22 out of my Lude and put it in before, so that work shouldn't be much of a problem, just wondering about time mostly
took my friends and myself 2 days. not hard at all. you know about the rear mount several times i'm sure
LOL, I knew you did.
I hope you can move your arm around in 80 ways, because that's what you're gonna have to do
