My Plans... What you think?
Alright, here's my situation and what I'm looking to do. This friend of mine is willing to sell me his '89 CRX for $500, so I'm getting it checked out by my mechanic in the next few days. If all is well, I plan on embarking on a huge project, because I am going to have about $6500 cash, plus money I save from work to play with. My plans are as follows, and keep in mind that I'm looking for a reliable, daily driven, and fast car. Also, I live in New England, so rain, salt, etc. is a potential possibility.
- B18C5 engine from hmotorsonline and Hasport mounts, shift linkage, and wiring subharness.
- Skunk2 Mega Power Muffler w/ custom 2.25" stainless piping.
- AEM Intake w/ Bypass Valve.
- JDM DC Sports Stainless Header
- Skunk2 Short Shifter
- Ground Controls or H&R Race Springs
- Koni Sports
- 15" Rota Circuit 8's or Slips in Bronze (I know, I know... "the rota bandwagon", but how can you beat lightweight, good looking rims at that kind of a price?)
- Car painted Black or White with stock ground effects left black
- Shaved emblems and side moldings
- Semi-gutted interior
I guess that's about it, plus some miscellaneous interior mods.
My questions are: Should I make it OBD1 or what?
Ground Controls or H&R Race springs? the reason I'm leaning towards GC's is that I MAY have to jack it up for winter time.
Should I get the DC header, or will the stock header be ok?
Will I need a new clutch?
and can I use the LSD provided with the engine?
Any other suggestions or heads up for probs i may run into is appreciated...
