i found out a radio i bought, from my 'friends' friend was stolen
i decided tp ask anybody i know if they would buy it from me and when i told them it was hot they said 'so what???!!!!'
some even asked me if i can get more...
where i live criminals are everywhere, ****, im a criminal myself, i can get tons of deals on hot stuff...
just thought some bashing from my good friends at honda tech would discourage me

 

I would not purchase hot goods. It seems ok, until it is your stuff, that you put a lot of money and effort into, is stolen.

In purchasing stolen goods, you've encouraged more theft. Car electronics are cheap these days. I dunno why anyone would risk stealing it. I read in a car audio magazine article that some kids are doing 7 years in prison for stealing car audio stuff. You can work for a few months and save up to buy it.

 

in worse case scenerio...if you happened to get pull over..and the cop happens to suspect you have stolen accessories..he can confiscate the items or impound your car...then after they actually look at your stuff....if they do discover you have stolen goods on your car...your in deep sh/t...with rims its harder to tell..but actual stereos and other things have serial numbers...not everything is traceable!

i had a friend who had stolen things in his car..stereo and his whole system...he had gotten pulled over and the cop assumed all his stuff was stolen...for some reason he took all my friends things..the deck and all and said he could pick it up at the station if he had receipts or proof it was his...of course my friend never went back but i was pretty in shock that a cop actually did this...basically what im trying to say...dont get caught with any type of stolen merchandise or it falls on you...

 

No I wouldnt buy stolen stuff...you are contributing to the problem if you support them in any way...
people that support them not only deserve to have their equipment stolen...hopefully their entire car would get stolen.that way when the whine and bitch that all their hard work and money was stolen away...us honest people can turn to them and laugh

thats true, but put it this way, if a thief breaks my car, which they have and probably will, id much rather have hot stuff in it that i hardly spent any money on!

No, I work out of a home office...so I get to surf boards all day between work...

I just feel that people who either a) buy equipment they know is hot, or b) steal it themselves basically are worth less then pond scum and I don't wish to associate with them. I also feel that they shouldn't be allowed to exist on friendly internet sites where legal activities are welcomed, but illegal ones (the kind that hurt all memebers here) should not be allowed.

I don't see where there is any "misunderstanding" You said above that you have both purchased stolen property and you have stolen yourself...that classifies you as a criminal (if you missed it, you said it in your first post --> "****, im a criminal myself"- I don't care if it's ninja turtles, gum from a store, or a car.

I've been a victim of car audio theft before, and the people who commit it are gutless pieces of ****...Basically, you are on the same level as a scammer in the Classifieds section and you should be handled the same - personally I think you should be banned....that's my opinion.

Here's my suggestion...if you unknowningly purchased something stolen...then STFU about it and consider yourself lucky....don't admit this knowledge on a public forum....use some common sense...

In light of the recent events (see: Car thefts) thievery, scamming, buying stolen property, etc. is not taken lightly here. It is quite a sensitive subject. It's not something to be joked about. If you have stolen before and have truly changed, then good for you. But it's not something you just want to announce to the public. People here don't know you. They don't know if you're a good person or not. How you carry yourself on this board, is how people are going to perceive you.

its after that i figured out that this guy he got it from was a bit shady
