Yeah, I love montreal, but this is rediculous. I guess I drive a little too much on the highway and go too many dings, but me car has two little rust spots on it.

Right where the weather sealer and the hood meet with the bumper. two little chips that have developed oxidization...

My question is this: Is there a rust protection warranty on our cars? I know some brands offer 5 year, 10 year or even 12 year (audi I belive)...Do we have this luxury?

And, if so, what are the rules? Where can I find more info?

If not, I'm gonna paint the car next summer...

 

Call Acura on this one. I know that some dealerships offer the rust protection as an option.

 

iirc, a 5 year rust warranty is standard. Call your Acura dealer

 

I had a little spot starting to develop, but when i waxed my car it went away

 

I checked my manual, it has to start from the inside first... I ask them when I'm there....

That warranty is for rust <U>thru</U> , and does not cover rock chips and stuff like that. Your best bet is to get some wax onto it and try to get the rust off ASAP. If you repaint the car it will never be the same.

I get small rust spots after each winter on my 98 teg, but a good paste wax gets it all off and there are no problems.

My best suggestion in get some clear nail polish put that over the chips then put some touch up paint over it then wax the mother yeah most dealerships cover rusting only if its all the way through. Rust

 

Yup, the warranty is for rott. Only thing now is try to prevent it.

 

I think the rust protection is an additional package. Hmm...i don't remember, call Acura would be the best bet. Or just use wax or scratch the rust off and use ur touchup paint to cover it up. BTW, i took off my skirts the other day and found the long thin strip of metal located inside where the skirts sit looked bent downward. It was about under where my door opens. its about 1 and a half inch long and its rusting though. Gotta sand it down and paint over it. Anyone had the same problem? Was taking off my OEM skirts on my 01 GSR.
