Question about purchasing '03 EX sedan w/ v6
Hey, I'm new around here. Thinking VERY seriously of becoming a Honda owner. In fact, if I can get out of my Jetta for what I owe on it, I'll drop her in a heartbeat.
Anyways, I've done a ton of research and I'm not finding anything to be scared of except for the fact that this is the first year since a redesign. Am I missing anything?
The main reason I'm concerned is the pricing. I am looking at the EX sedan, with leather (no navigation), and the v6 engine. MSRP is $26,260 (incl destination), invoice is $23,674 I went to carsdirect.com for a target price, they recommend $23974 as their price. I have seen offers for actually BELOW invoice - I have an offer in my inbox right now for $23,495. Is there something I'm missing that is causing the price to be so low? I mean, I'm all for it, especially if I have to eat some of the loan on my VW, but I just want to make sure it isn't too good to be true.
Thanks! I hope to be joining you all as a real 'member' soon!

When your ready go check it out test drive, full details, financing etc.
It varies from state to state but some see msrp some see invoice. also some see markups mainly on the 6speed which is limited to a production run, and a few see freebies if paying near msrp. But that price is very good overall, good luck!

If that is true, I dont want to wait till october for my lease to end! That car for under $24,000 is truly cheap, it almost seems underpriced. I would definitely go for it at that price. What other car fully loaded, any make/model with that kind of performance/features could touch it? NONE whatsoever. I believe it could be true, especially with all of the aggressive car pricing going on. Unless for some freak reason, they were confused with an EX non-V6, but then that would be too high for that I think.
I've actually got several dealers talking right at invoice. When my husband bought his Maxima last fall, he went to carsdirect.com and they had their price for his car. He just asked all the local dealers (email) what their best price was for his specific configuration. Then he told them all he had a lower offer, told them the amount, and told them they would need to match it or beat it. A couple told him sorry but no can do. And a couple said sure, let's do it! So we figured for my Accord, we would do the same.
Carsdirect.com shows the following for 2003 Honda Accord 4dr Sedan 3.0 EX w/Leather: http://www.carsdirect.com/build/opti...&restore=false
MSRP: $26,260
Invoice: $23,674
CarsDirect Price: $23,974
I figured we'd play the same game as my husband and have to talk them down to the CarsDirect price. Nope, right off the first email, three dealers beat the CarsDirect price. One by $100, one was at invoice, and one was $200 under invoice.
So now I just have to get them to eat up my Jetta as much as I can (KBB and CarMax say $14,800, I owe $15,800 and would love to break even) and go for it!
My biggest problem is timing. Do I wait for 4/1 to see if there are any new incentives since the old ones expire on 3/31? Plus, if we're at war, maybe more push to sell cars? Or, do I go in the next week or so when they are desperate to push a couple more cars out for the end of the month & quarter? Decisions, decisions. Oh, and color. I just don't know, except I want gray leather. Hmm...

Edit - a couple typos, probably still a few remaining
