Default DO NOT buy Random Technology Converters!!

Everyone, Do not puchase a catalytic converter from random technology! I bought one from them and used it for less than a year before the ceramic bricks came loss and started rattling, which their products are know for. I sent it back to them and they told me that they couldn't do anything for me because it was damage from impact. I made sure there was no dents on the converter before I sent it back and besides the converter never even hit the ground before. Random technology converters are junk! I wanted to spreed the word before someone else makes the same mistake.

Well your guys' problem is that you are even bothering with cats. **** em, cats are for ****, straight piping from the turbo (or header) back!

Maybe I am just saying that because I don't have to worry about emissions here in small town WA. haha

I put a Catco on my brother's 93 hatch almost 2 years ago. No problems! As for guys that are running hollowed cats or test pipes. I think it's ignorant. But that's just my opinion.

1. Its illegal, if caught your facing federal fines in the thousands.

2. If you've ever driven behind someone with a testpipe you'll realize they suck, it smells like ***.

3. It sucks for the enviroment.....not a tree hugger but it does put out some nasty ****, easy way to realize why it smells so bad.

4. Testpipes dont always show big gains, sometimes none at all.

it's stupid because bozos like you talk smack about 'gas guzzling v8s', how bad they suck for the environment etc, and then put out 100x more toxens than they ever would.

I bought my car with a testpipe....I quickly replaced it with a cat.

The Federal clean air act has details about defeating emissions equipment and the associated fines. I assume this applies country wide but i may be wrong. anyone know for sure?

I wouldnt give misleading info... I'm from PA. Having a testpipe is illegal anywhere in the US, its a Federal emissions law. You might have gotten lucky at some out of the way station that does not do state/federal compliant testing.

The stations outside Philadelphia do full emissions testing. They hook you up to the machine, set your car on rollers and run you through it. For the most part if you have a cat and it works, you should pass as the standards are not as strict as say California. But you are required by law to have a Catalytic converter.
