Default question for a friend....Ek4 sirII auto mounts....

I have a friend who has a 2000 civic Ex coupe, AUTO with the d16y8. This guys car is basically a show car, so he wants to keep it automatic. He wants the bragging rights of having a b-series under his hood, preferably a vtc motor. Now I have never dealt with automatics, but the guy at http://www.hmotorsonline.com says that he has the complete swap for a ek4 auto....97 model. This would make it an OBDa electrical system, I know, and we would have to do some work, but, what about the mount compatibility?

The guy at hmotors cannot tell me if the mounting positions are the same for the jdm model civic and the usdm civic, so this is where i will turn to h-tech.

This is a serious question so I hope to get some feedback today, and please dont try to convince me that I should go with a 5-speed manual, because this guy has his reasons, and I can respect that. Thanks in advance guys...

The engine must be same year or newer to be smog legal

I am not worried about smog, the car is a show car, and we do not have any tests to pass here in new orleans. Not saying that I do not care about smog, but that is not the issue. I am worried about the b16 auto mounting into the usdm auto civic. Thanks again.......

ok, I get the smog issue, please help me find out if the mounts are in the same position between the usdm auto civic and the jdm auto civic.

you won't find too many people here that have done auto b-series swaps into civics. i think b18c5 eh2 tried it and it was a mess.
