ive been scammed, need help
i bought a turbo kit off of ebay from a seller who works at an online autoparts store, modiparts.com. i paid her $2800 on dec. 22 and still have no ******* kit! the last time she contacted me was on jan 31 by email and said that she hadnt recieved my kit yet and not to worry about it. ive tried calling her at modiparts, shes never there; ive tried emailing her, she never returns any of them; and ive tried calling her at another number, and hasnt returned any of my messages. paypal says theres nothing they can do cause its past 30 days, and i think ebay only reimburses up to $200. paypal said i could contact the bbb, or maybe fbi, and try but they said nothings guartenteed and they dont know what else to tell me. has this happened to anyone else? what did/would you do?

thanks for all the replies guys, sorry it took so long i just got home from work. i talked to them again today, they are going to call drag tomorrow and see whats going on with my kit. the guy at the actual store (modiparts) is really nice, hes actually trying to help, its just this lady thats pissing me off. he said she hasnt been around in a while, and he doesnt talk to her much. the sellers id is aznsxkitten78 and her name is emilia pamelar. i checked again today and it turns out shes been suspended from ebay. i guess thats not a good sign, lol. no i think everything will be ok, ill talk to that guy tomorrow, and i really think everything should be fine. if not, i am going to take your guys' advice and get law enforcement and a lawyer involed. thanks again.
You paid with paypal right???? So that means you paid with your credit card. Call you credit card company up ASAP and contest the charge. Most credit card company have 0$ fraud liability which your ebay/paypal transaction falls under.
Good luck.

track her down and blow up her house and car.....
no.. not really..
on a serious note i dont think local law would be interested but im not sure, i think its more of a federal thing because im assuming shes from out of state... i was under the impression that anything over 1000 was a felony, but it could be 500.. either way your loss tops that...
contact ebay and get her personal info if you havn't already figured it out, seems like you've talked with the store owner and things are going smooth, watch out though he could be just trying to save his own ***... .... .... .02c

Some sellers don't accept credit card payments through PayPal because they would have to upgrade their accounts which in turns charges a fee to accept any kind of payment. If they don't upgrade, there's no charge to accept payment via bank transfers/PayPal balance.
BTW, good luck with this. Always important to check feedback from sellers and to make sure the feedback is from buyers and not only sellers.

In a scam like this you should report it to the postmaster general. They are very tough when setting out to catch mail fraud. If you paid for insurance or tracking on the package they would have to provide proof it was shipped out. Postmaster general can make things happen! They are no joke.
By law a mail order seller has 30 days to ship your goods. If they don't ship you can ask for your money back.
Another option is to get another honda techie in the area to pay a little visit to them in person and represent you. They would need a copy of the invoice and some background on what's been done.
Always write down the time/date and name of person you made contact with when calling them.

i have her personal phone number, PM me if you want it, then you can just scare her and say "See i have my sources, i can get any info on you. Get me my stuff NOW"
you have her name and her location. that's all you need.
i got scammed once. so i found out the guy's name (all i had was an email address), that he had a mortgage, wife, kid on the way, where he worked, how much he made, how much he paid in taxes the year before, his driver's license # and record, his criminal record (which his job would have been interested in) and a few other things that i won't mention. i was a journalism major for 2 years, and thanks to them, i know that all that info is public record and you can get it if you know where to look and who to talk to.
once you confront them with all that info, and let them know that if they don't uphold their end of the transaction, their life will slip downhill quickly, they will straighten things out as soon as possible.
i got my money back 3 days later.
