Also, if CARB exemption is a problem, you might just wanna cough up the cash.

like he said, you get what you pay for. I always feel uneasy about the ebay intakes because you see so many of them, but yet no one is buying them. The kind of intakes that are on there are probably home made, which means if you really wanted to save money, you can just make one yourself. But you wont get the kind of performance a well known intake seller can give you because they have researched the physics of it all and came up designs for that.

AEM CAI piping is 2.75" diameter.
most of Ebay intake pipings are 2.5". Ask seller before you buy.
Their rubber couplings tend to crack after a yr.

I bought an EBAY cold air intake about a year ago. I have no complaints whatsoever. Its designed to the exact specs as the AEM. And my rubber couplings haven't cracked or anything, they're just like they were when they were new. "You get what you pay for" may apply in some cases, but come on, this is just a pipe w/a filter on the end. Its all mandrel bent, and the same sizes as AEM, so i say go for it. It prolly only costs AEM $30 to make theirs, you're just paying an arm and a leg for their name, and the CARB sticker.

I ghetto rigged all of my intakes, but then I spent 30 bucks on an ebay intake, and it sounds and performs better than any of my creations...
RS/LS/SE/GS: 2.5"
GSR: 2.75"
ITR: 3"
those are AEM dimensions. most of the CAI on eBay are the same dimensions. just do yourself a favor and spend $35-$45 on a quality K&N filter for the CAI.
i've had my eBay CAI next to an AEM and the diameter & design are exactly the same. over a year old and the eBay CAI is still holding w/ a K&N.
so i say if you're on a budget get the eBay CAI.
