Default Which cams do you recommend?

I currently have i/h/e, I now want to move to the next modification. I'm looking into some cams but not sure which ones to get. I'm thinking about skunk 2 or toda b spec. I was told the type r cams or stage 1 cams will be a little on the mild side. I was wondering how much real power I would gain with stage 2 cams? Besides just dropping in the cams, what else is a must that I would need to compliment the cams? I don't plan on changing any internals just yet. I appreciate your responses.

If you are going to go with the stage 2s (or any other aggressive cams for that matter) it would be a good idea to bump up your compression. High lift cams love high compression.

I think going with Toda's would be a good choice. They make good power. Also if you do choose Toda, make sure you do the valvetrain over, and get a stronger timing belt. It's not good to use those cams on a stock vavletrain.

Yes, upgrade your valve train if you are going with the Todas or Stage 2s. To take full advantacge of these aggressive cams you will want to raise your redline.

If you are not going to upgrade your valvetrain, don't go with anything more aggressive than ITRs. You won't get any power out of the more agressive cams, unless you do some upgrading. Even Toda A's, and Skunk2 1's need at least an ITR valve train to put down some decent power.

Yes, they are, but there have been people who have dropped them in their otherwise stock R's, and made some pretty good power out of them.

If you're not strengthening the internals, you shouldn't be getting new cams. Even if you step up to the Type-R cams, it's a good idea to bump up internals. I've heard good things from the Skunk cams, and of course Toda is an excellent choice. In my future, I see Skunk stage 1s or 2s with an upgraded valvetrain.
