Default aem cam gears on ls...how do you adjust?

i got some new aem adjustable cam gears on my b18b and was wondering how do you adjust them? do you advance the intake or the exhaust cam? do you retard the intake or exhaust cam? i know your supposed to do this on a dyno i'm going to try to get to one asap, but i want to know how should i adjust the cam gears on the intake and the exhaust side.

thanks

If you don't really know anything about adjusting cam gears and what needs to be done, then I suggest you find someone experienced to help you out so you don't mess your motor up.

i've adjusted the cam gear before, but on my sohc motor. i know for the sohc motor, if you advance the cam gear, you get more low end power and if you retard it, you get top end power.

i just don't know whether to advance the intake cam or retard and the same for the exhaust cam.
