Passanger taillight is out...need help
My passanger taillight is not working. However, when the brake is applied the light comes on. I have not been able to find any problems with the wiring, ground wire or fuses. Would I be able to splice into the driver side light to get this damn light to work?
check the bulb
It's a dual-filament bulb, and just because the high-wattage (brake) filament is still good doesn't mean the low-wattage one is too.
So the bulb is brand new? If you have a multi-tester, try checking to see if each of the two contacts is getting power when it should be, and if one of them is dirty or corroded. Do all of the other related lights (e.g. front parking lights) function normally when the parking lights are on and the brakes are applied?
It's gotta be the bulb- take it out and see if there are two filaments in it. I prolly burned out- if it is good, get the meter out and check voltages and for opens.
