alternator removal on crx with ls motor
we will be removing and replacing my friends alternator today. he has a 91 hf with an ls motor in it. any kind of motor mount removal wont be possible his mounts are welded in. i read one other post and it said from the bottom. is this right?
You can get it out the bottom if you remove the driveshaft. So if you don't want to do that you do what I do? I remove the brake master cylinder. You will have to bleed the brakes, but if you don't have an impact wrench avialable then this is the way to do it.
why would i need an impact wrench? ill pry on it no big deal. so through the bottom would be less hassle without worrying about bleeding the brakes.
i remove the intake manifold and move it sideways a lil bit
i rather just add a lil more coolant than having to bleed the brakes and then having them failure later....

Depending on the position of his mounts, you might be able to fish it out of there, if you remove the alternator, lay it back on the rear crossmember, then take the bracket off too and worm it out.
