Can someone please explain to me why putting a GSR block on an LS head would be beneficial for doing an FI setup?

do you mean a gsr head onto a ls block, i heard it's because of the lower compression the ls has pretty low cr that's what i heard and it's my .02 correct me if im wrong or explain a little more to clarify what your talking bout
