I was curious if I picked up a salvaged teg and did the conversion would it pass Salvage test you must go through to get a salvaged car back on the road? I would have receipts for everything.

Will they care that it won't past the 15mph crash test? Thats the only part that I'm realy worried about. Have you seen pictures of the USDM and the JDM without the bumper covers on? Big difference lol

 

What do they do, crash test your newly salvaged car to see if it will pass? I should hope not.

 

They do an inspection on everything that was considered salvaged. But if they pull the bumper and they see how much thinner that crash bar is, I'm not sure what they would say. I've heard they can be very ****.

 

it should as long as you have reciepts for everything, they usually just check all the parts for vin numbers and if it doesnt have it, they want to see where you got it from.

 

I've read on this board that someone used the stock USDM 5MPH bumper bar with their JDM conversion + the C-west front bumper. I'm currently working out a deal to purchase a c-west front bumper... and once I do... I'll post up pictures and show you guys.

 

Can anyone confirm this? I don't want to do it and then once I go there they tell me it won't pass and I have to go back to USDM.

Also, will JDM engines pass that aslong as I have receipt and Vin for it?

I thought you needed the JDM front bumper bar?

 

why don't you call around to the salvage department (or who ever will be inspecting your car) and see what they have to say about it?

 

it probably wont pass with the jdm engine

 

I guess it will be just easier to spend 2,000 more for it not savlage and strip and sell everything out. But sooo many people are asking way too much for an integra.

 

for the ease and sake of it, you should get the CHP inspection with all stock us integra stuff. theyre really **** about stolen parts so even if u had receipts for the jdm stuff, they could confiscate it just because it might not have a vin number on it.
