i don't think there's any hardcore internal engine parts available for the 6th gen. accords... there's a few for the 5th gens but not sure about 98+... f23a1 is 4 cyl right..? if it was a v6, i'd say try the comptech supercharger... if you went with a prelude swap, then i'd say try all motor... if you got a 4 cyl, go turbo... if you're not willing to spend that much money, get some bolt-ons w/ nitrous oxide... if you're brokeass, get some bolt-ons and call it a day...

Don't do an engine swap. Your motor is just too new. I'm keeping my motor. Because I have an auto, I'll have to stay N/A. Won't see much of a gain if I go turbo, and I would be hurting my engine.

Why couldn't you go FI with an auto?

The auto is an problem, but it's not one you can't work around.

i don't know if you're speaking for all automatic accords or just 6th generation accords but that's still a pretty thoughtless reply... don't say anything about turbocharged accord automatics unless you got one-

"Because I have an auto, I'll have to stay N/A."
-if you have an auto, one option is to do a manual swap or beef up the auto tranny... bolt-ons aren't the only option... you can do turbo or nitrous oxide...

"Won't see much of a gain if I go turbo,"
-you think your N/A setup is going to give you more power than a turbo setup? on my 94 accord ex (stock engine & auto tranny), i'm making 180.3 hp at 179.5 tq at the wheels at 8 psi... and don't forget about niedejb and his setup...

"and I would be hurting my engine."
-oh, so beating on your all-motor engine is safer than beating on a turbocharged engine..?

custom drag 4 comparison with real drag 4

I'm not going to even waste time arguing with you. Just one comment. From what I've heard, and the information that I came across when researching DSM turbos in Accords, I know that you get less power from a turbo on an automatic than a manual. And that it's even worse to have a turbo with an automatic.

I dont mean to be an ******* but it dosent seem like you know much about cars in general..maybe alittle about hondas, but no real car knowledge. You will lose wheel horsepower with any tranny, its part of drivetrain loss, and yes with an auto you generally lose a little more. But, regardless of what motor setup you use, you still lose the same amount of power either way. A turbo wont make your car lose more power through the tranny any more than a N/A setup. As long as you take the proper precautions a turbo automatic will work just fine.

not to bring a domestic into the picture to prove a point, but for all of us who were lucky enough to have a chance to take a ride in a 86-87 buick grand national, they all came factory auto, all came factory at about 15 psi and also were day in day out known as the fastest production made car in the 80's a boosted auto..... 4life

arguing..? i think it's turning into an interesting debate...

From what I've heard, and the information that I came across when researching DSM turbos in Accords...
eg_cvcc is right-i'm not an import tuner guru but it dosent seem like you know much about cars in general... maybe alittle about hondas, but no real car knowledge...

I know that you get less power from a turbo on an automatic than a manual.
like eg_cvcc said, you're not going to get the same amount of power from a turbo (for example) with an automatic than a manual... i think most people already know that... i knew what to expect when deciding to go turbo and keep my auto... it's not the turbo that's causing the automatic to have less power than a manual, it's the automatic tranny itself...

And that it's even worse to have a turbo with an automatic.
so what are you trying to say..? auto cars are a lot better off with an all motor setup..? although i've only been boosting since january of this year, my auto tranny is still alive... oh yea, i killed my friend's 98+ accord v6 coupe on the highway... we raced several times... he has intake, header, exhaust, and test pipe... oh wait-he's auto too...

You are somewhat of a test subject to me. Both of us have basically the same car, except yours is newer, and I've got ULEV-VTEC, unfortunately. If your setup turns out not to have any problems, then I will continue researching DSM parts in Accords. TeamElusive on Honda Society has done something similar. But he has an old Accord, and a JDM motor.
