falken azenis
Had mine for half a year now driving daily total 80 miles on freeway. Still don't need to rotate tires yet. falken azenis
Thanks for the info. Where did you buy them at? And how well do they grip in the rain.
These tires are terrible for a car that does not see any track/autocross use. They hydroplane pretty bad in the wet, and are very loud at highway speeds.
Otherwise, the dry grip for track/autocross use is unbeatable for the amount of grip. I ran them on the track all last year.

When you put 20,000 miles a year on a car, its nice to have some level of comfort. Its cool at first, but after a while just becomes an annoyance.
for crying out loud why do people driving sporty cars complain about such things lol
if its too loud turn up the stereo or put some earmuffs on

And like RJ said, why would you put Azenis on your car if you never use them for any kind of autox, etc?
*edit* don't expect more than 20K miles out of them.

The azenis will stick better in the dry, but if you are not using these tires for any sort of track/autocross use there just isnt a point in buying them.
how does the so-3 compare to the azenis in dry conditions?
Also about azenis being bad in the rain....they're fine as long as you drive responsibly and avoid standing water.
Hi,
How long do you guys think these tires will last if I was only using them for daily driving and not for street racing or autocrossing?

They are also dirt cheap.
and they suck, i had those on my mr2 in 215/245 and lost it twice with them, when i went up to Pirelli P7000 i never lost the car once, hell even with Eagle HP's i never lost it...unless youre on a very very tight bidget dont get the 712's
Then you're pushing the car too hard in the wrong places if you're "losing it" on street tires.

IMO, i think the S-03 is a much better tire than azenis. i've driven cars with both and the S-03's handled better in wet and dry condition.

Then you would absolutely hate the azenis. Not bad at first, sound like monster truck tires as the wear down.
If there's one thing I can't stand, it's road noise...
For the money the Azenis are absolutely great. I have driven them auto-crossing, road racing (even in the rain), and everyday street tires. They performed very well in all these scenarios. If I didn't have R-Compounds I would have never taken the Azenis off. The only condition I hear they absolutely suck is in the snow
Yeah, I also like tires that last. Wether they cost $50 or $150, I'm partial to whichever tire lasts. I get screwed EVERY SINGLE TIME I visit ANY tire place. Went to Allied Tires, they put 60 series tires on my car when they told me they were gonna put 50 series, AND they dropped a tire on my fender to put a huge dent in it. Then to top it all off they left the windows down and sunroof open ALL NIGHT while it was sitting outside. I decided last time I'd go to Tire Kingdom. I told them 4 separate times "Don't use an air gun on my lug nuts". Needless to say they used an air gun, the lug nuts were way over torqued, and they CRACKED when they seated... so they've been seized on the lugs for almost 2 years now.
No. None of it.
The fender they admitted no fault to, even though it was parked next to the wall of tires.
The tires was my own fault, I didn't read the invoice before I signed it.
The lugs I didn't notice untill a few months after, and they refused to believe that they had done it.
Lets just say I manage to get screwed at any/every tire place I go. If anyone knows a good tire place around here, lemme know.

So you decide what you want, but IMO the 712's were not what every one bragged them up to be. At best I would call them avg, they do perform well in the rain, but they are most def not a competion tire.
Well, he said he wouldn't be competing on them - that's why I suggested the 712s. No sense spending extra cash and sacrificing comfort if you don't need the at-the-limit performance of a track tire.
the life of the tire depends on how you drive. an hour of peeling out, screeching, or basically track time can equate to 1-2 months of average driving. add a few daily hard corners and an occasional burnout and you can estimate the tradeoff. i expect my 200treadwear dunlop fm901's to last 8months to a year (+10k miles) under spirited daily driving conditions.
