Clutch, labor prices
Hey everyone, I've been lurking here for awhile, and have been extremely impressed with your technical knowledge. My beloved Accord has a non-functioning clutch. You can shift, but there's absolutely no feel. It's not mobile.
I've been trying to get some qoutes on a clutch replacement, and the prices are varying so wildly that I have to ask you guys. I noticed that lots of you are from the San Diego/SoCal area, as I am. Heres some of my qoutes:
Honda dealer (Cush) $900
Hontech: $846
Skelly's garage: $400
Convoy st. garage: $295
Price is a factor, but I would prefer a new Honda clutch if possible. Are re-manufactered clutches any good? Am I being completely gypped?
Thanks in advance.

you can get a Honda clutch from Honda and take it to another place if you want. i'm not sure on price. i did my own and unless you know what youre doin i wouldnt suggest trying to do it. just find a good reputable shop. sometimes its better to pay more for the better service. its all depends on what you wanna spend
a honda clutch is great but they are expencive .... you can get a new aftermarket that is from a oem supplier like exidy i use those clutches all the time and have never had a problem i think they feel as good as a honda clutch ... the only thing i can tell you to make sure of when buying a clutch make sure it is made in japan dont buy any made anywhere else..... especially the ones made in south africa .. they are truely junk i do tons of work at my house if intrested i can do it for you but i live near los angeles
