Default test driving s2000 today and what i felt about the car and the dealer

sup guys. first of all guys, i respect and like s2k so dont think i'm here to say...ITR is better, faster or anything like that. That other post went way too far fighting over who is faster.
well anyway. i dont have to go to Ranger school till may so i decided to test drive, and see what kind of deal i can get.

First, test drive black s2k...so nice and clean. But i have to say it wasnt all that to me. Dont flame me for thinking that, its just my opinion. I have toda A set up with headers etc.. and it had more mid range power than s2k.
it was very nice ride and the dealer let me take it to red line and he wanted to show me what it can do so i did and it was very fun.

Second, talk about price. the dealer was very cool and he knew he couldnt pull stupid **** on me so him and sell's manager sat down and we talked.
he said he would give me 18k for my type R with 20k miles on it and sell the s2k for 38k.
i told him "if you are trying to sell this car for 38k then we will end this conversation and i'm walking out right now. excuse my language but that is bull ****."
and then we went on and talked about how other cars are like 350z, g35, wrx sti, and evo are about 34k and s2k is not worth that much. blah blah blah. after about 30 mins of talking.. he said " how much do i have to lower it for you to buy it" i told him 32k-33k with all the options that i want on it. he said ok i will get it worked on it but you have to say sell car first.
he also said that he will try to beat 4.9% finance i have with ITR, so thats good.

i havent test drive other cars yet but i'm thinking about it. it is nice car and pretty cool dealer i guess but it wasnt all that. i'm sure and i know it will get more and better power if i work on it if i get it. so that is why i'm thinking about it.
Just sharing my thought.

38 is outrageous. They're going for like 30 around here in Maryland. I'm sure you could arrange shipping for the car you want and still come out cheaper. IM me if you want details. I'll hook you up with the salesman that sold me mine.

you said something about with all the options you wanted. What options? That could make a huge difference in the prices. If you're wanting the hard top, spoiler, front lip and side strakes, you're about the right price.

$29,500 for base car. $2500 for hardtop, $1000 for front spoiler, side strakes, and rear spoiler. Total ~$33,000.

no, it didnt have hard top, front lip, spoiler, or side strakes. it was plain as it can be and he tried to sell it for 38k.
