anyone ever thought about this? have the factory si sunroof parts, and cutting a hole the roof? i kinda want to put a sunroof from a 99-00 si to my ek hatch....anyone have any info on this? thanks

 

Ive heard of it being done, but i dont think it would be worth all the trouble. FOr one thing your car didnt come equipped with a drainage system for the extra water that may occur when it rains or the car is washed. That means youll just have water splashing in on you. I know for sure it an rather expensive mod. Just save tha money!!

 

The drainage is just a tube that you can get as well, the sun roof assembly has its own gutter system.

Now you need to remember that you couldnt just "cut a hole" in your roof and think that everything is going to work. If you look at a civic that has a sunroof, the metal is flanged inward to make the system work.

What i had heard, if this has any relevance, is that the roof on a hatch is slightly too short to hold the rear tracks and assembly. But hey give it a try.

You know you can get a new roof from a OEM replacement company i.e. certi-fit, and make it work on your car, that would probabally be the best plan.

You can local glass replacement shops install sunroofs,its not a super mod that only show cars can get.I got quoted 1g for a power sunroof for my eg so i said fawk you.

 

some rare 96+ hatches comes with it factory stock

 

i did my own sunroof on my 97 hatch,...DONT DO IT YOURSELF,..have someone else do it,..trust me on this one,..it was a bitch,...ive heard of prices around one grand,..i did my own for 3 hundred bucks,...it still doesnt leak after 2 years,...but like i said,..DONT DO IT YOURSELF
