I know alot of people on here have a respect for the BMW's so I though I would share my experience with you.A good friend just got to pick his 02 M coupe up from the plant in NC.Since there only 150 of these things to be in the U.S I felt it was quite a treat to get to ride in his new toy.He had a GSR before this.He can not take the car over 5 grand right now since he is braking it in.Even shifting at 5 it is as fast as a stock R.We raced him in my bestfriends 01 ITR which runs a 14.07.From a 15 mph roll to 80 the nose of the BMW was on our bumper and that was shifting 3k before redline. On the highway we raced from 70 to 110.He left it in 5th and we were in third.By the time we got to 110 he had put a car length on us and that was just in 5th gear. This car is absolutley amazing.Individual throttle bodies, trac control ,everything one needs to go fast and ride in a car that feels smooth and quite.Just thought I would share this with those that are gear heads. As soon as it is broken in I will get to tear around in it.Can't wait.If anyone wants to buy an ITR for $46k I'll get one for myself

No,150.This version has the new m3 motor in it.It is 318 hp.Versus the 333hp M3.Decreased so it won't be faster than the new M3.It only weighs 2990 though ,so it should still be faster.
The production will indeed more than 150 cars. How many car will be sold that is another story! It does not even makes sense that a car company will make only 150 cars. The Z8 was a 450 cars run. It is a love/hate it. Either you like the Coupe or you hate it. Personally, I really like it. Hopefully, I can pick up a used 99-00 M Coupe so my garage will look balance, 1 coupe and 1 roadster.
Those cars are sick. A lot of people don't like the hatch-style body but I love it. Why are the 99's slower? The new M engine in that little body has to be sick, but were they able to keep the suspension the same without it getting overwhelmed by all the extra power and torque?
Yep, The plant is in Greer, South Carolina. It is about 45 mins from Clemson University. The tour of the plant is great, if you are ever in the area.............go!

I agree. The Zentrum is a neat place to visit. They have some neat cars on display, too. They had an Andy Warhol painted racer, an M1, some motorcycles...etc...Also, while I was there, they were tracking some M5's. Pretty neat. Good stop on a friday before a saturday Tiger football game!
