si and ex grille

si and ex grille
can I just take my grille out and replace the middle unpainted black part with the mesh one from an Si or type-r? hondaautomotiveparts.com says that the grille trim (the painted part) is a different part on the Si and the EX but I doubt it really is. Anyone know for sure?

I know it's different, the question is will it fit. I don't believe it does. The Si Grill "frame" has sections cut out of the sides (can't see from front) to accommodate the grill. I’m pretty sure it will not work, and you need an Si or Type R grill frame.
