I own a 97' GSR with Apex N1 *goin to buy a K&N drop in today*

Some kid with an auto 97' Acura CL 3.0 thinks he can blow me away

and a kid with an auto 95' Mitsu Eclipse GSX thinks he can kill me

Both are pretty damn stock cars....

What are my chances? And should I put money on it ?(I am a good driver)
I wouldnt mind buyin some suspension upgrades after these clowns

is the cl stick or auto , probably auto , if it is you have the cl , the gsx is a diff story try to beat him, but they are quick and good off the line . . . . . . .


EDIT , there BOTH AUTO < you'll prob win , but not my much , try to take out like your spare tire and all your extra weight for the gsx and try to know when to launch and drop your psi on your front tires alittle so they will grip , you should have it

Both GSX and CL are AUTOMATIC...

I have good racing shifting, so im not worried I guess.

you can take the CL....the GSX is going to be close, but after your filter you should be able to take him....lose your spare tire

 

i would think you should have the CL since it's not type s
As for the GSX, dont underestimate him, remember all wheel drive turbo...

my friend has a manual 97' eclipse gsx. that all wheel drive has some nice launching. I dont know how the automatics comapre though.

The automatics really suck. It's horrid. IMO, you can take em both.

I'm waiting to see the after post when someone says they misshifted and then the transmission started to fall apart two weeks later. I wouldnt suggest racing if i were you, especially if you have to declare yourself as a "good driver"

hmm, in 97, isn't that the older body cl. don't those have the 2.3l non-vtec motor from the prelude?

 

if both the other cars are stock you'll be ok. i assume you won't be racing on the streets......

I think it would be a good race. Just don't do it on the street.

 

They never made a 3.0 CL in standard. The only CL's that were standard were the 2.3's. You will take the CL but the Eclipse has 210hp with awd, the fact that it's auto hurts it and does increase your chances but a exhaust and drop in filter will not be enough to beat him. I see you live in the Northeast so make sure that the conditions are ideal when you race him because his car gets waY better
traction.

Unless you suck, you can take them both. If it were a stick GSX it would be much tougher but still possible.
