Is it made of fiberglass or urethane? and how do i attach it to my RS? clips? screw? molding?

if you mean the OEM 97 ITR lip, it attaches with 7 bolts and clips, from the bottom of the bumper, throughout the front and to the corners of the lip; and 4 bolts (2 on each side) from inside the bumper cover. you have to drill holes for these last 4.

if you mean the comptech ITR lip replica, it's 2 screws on each end, and double sided tape.

 

a local guy is selling a Fibreglass one and told me its oem... i thought they were urethane as welll... so now, new question...
Is a fibreglass one worth buying for $150? apparantly it is brand new.

 

Depends on the quality and fitment. Test fit it to see if it fits on your RS without any huge gaps and such. Also feel the fiberglass to see how smooth is it, check for any major imperfections.

One thing with Fiberglass is that it won't give as much as Urethane does. If you hit something the fiberglass will crack on you where the Urethane will flex and give a little. Your choice really.......$150 is a decent price if the quality and fitment is good.

 

the OEM ITR lip is ABS plastic like on the S2000 dealer add on. They need to be made of urethene like the comptech replacement ITR lip.

 

Fiberglass? Mr. local probably should have said "OEM STYLE" hehe...
I'd get the Urethane one as it flexes and is less suseptable to cracking.

 

yea, these are my thoughts exactly.... im a bit skeptical of fiberglass because i am always the first to laugh at guys with broken fiberglass blomex bumpers.... .. i was going to get it from thte dealer, but they want $600 bucks...ugh... comptech is ...what...$250.???

 

I hope my Si VTEC lip doesn't crack easily..
