I have a 87 Honda Accord, It is starting to act up, the ideal will start at 1,000 and go to 2,000. It just keeps on going just like that when sitting steal. It just keeps going up and down, up and down.....what is making it do this, is it a plug, or what.

 

is 87 fuel injection? ecu? i hear often messed up idle is map sensor.

Yea if it's EFI then that was a common thing to happen when the EACV goes bad. If it's carb'd though... it's hard to say. There's sooooo many things to go wrong with those, especially with all the vacuum lines.

 

Yeah its a fuel injected, I worked on it some today, it will do it for a while and stop. It will start to do it agean so i would floor it untill about 5 grand, then it will stop, then later on will will do it agean. and the prosses starts all over agean.
