In the market for a car.....questions
Hey I will soon have about 10K for a car soon. I would like to get one for around 8K then spend some money on mods. I was going to get a gsr but the prices that people are selling them at is way over blue book. Then I was thinking about getting an Integra LS. Maybe. How is the Accord V-tech? I would most likely just do boltons depending on money. How much money and mods does it take to make a accord with V-tech go 0-60 in about 7 seconds flat? And how do they handle conpaired with a INtegra Ls......what car will be better over all? Thanks.
you could buy my 94 accord ex 5speed coupe for 4500. then spend the rest on making it REALLY FAST.
buyt really, an accord vtec...no h....will not be expensive, and witha turbo, or swap, or both, and some buildup, 7 seconds is feasable.

I dont need a car that's really fast but I want something that can run with a gsr. handeling is also big for me. I like a car that is flat in turns.
1998 Accord Coupe 4 cyl
Pros
Great on the highway, good gas mileage, quiet when u want it to be, big backseat
, looks alright, trouble free, has the potential to look great, more refinde than GSR - si , most Accords arent abused, cheap
Cons
So far handling isnt great compared to my last si, VTEC doesnt seem to come in with the same kick as si's or GSR's, cant thinkof much else.
If u want a car that looks fast get a 98 up accord coupe. Want it to be fast then slap on a turbo

Yeah, my bro had a 01 DX (lowest model possible) but it was still a really nice car. With intake and exhaust, it was enough to keep up with LS integras. It had enough power that you could feel it and is not a torqueless motor like b16/b18/d-series. The DX does not have VTEC, tho, so it has a little less power (135hp I think, 140-some lb/ft torque).

If your wanting something that handles the factory accord suspension is not gonna cover you there... it has hell of body roll compared to my old lude.
Also you will need a bit more power to keep with the gsr's, but with a 5 speed you should be able to hold with si's with similar mods.

I will be getting new shocks and springs maybe coilovers if I get an accord or LS. With the gsr maybe just a sway bar at first because if the money difference. I was just thinking if i am going to save like 3,000 dollars by getting an accord or integra LS instead of a GSR I could make it better with like 2grand. Would a non v-tech LS be better then a v-tech accord, say both have I/H/E with shocks springs? BY the way thanks for the help its hard finding the right car.
comparing an accord with a gsr or itr is like comparing apples to cider. they are produced by the same, but for different purposes. you can build up an accord to scoot along decent but dont buy an accord and strip all of its great qualities just to run low et's. i think i can speak for accord owners that we purchased them for the quality not so much the quantity.
