im thinking of cutting up some old seats i have to try my 10 inch kickers in them, i would use a ring to bring the top of the sub parallel to the foam, maybe a little more in
in case of back seat romping
and i have grills for them to protect them as well...
i will leather upholster the rest and im pretty exited about doing it...
they are sealed box kickers and a box would be built behind each
how will it sound???
im thinking (hoping) that they will sound much better than in the trunk or in the parcel shelf where they are now....

I think you'd feel that pounding in the front seat. Also the low frequency subs are cool under the front seats. Adds lots of drama to the system.
what kind of car is this going into? they would probably sound a lot better facing towards the back, and if its in a hatch tilted a little up towards the glass. thats usually the case. i think you'll end up being dissapointed after the amount of work involved.

before you do all this work. make the boxes and point them in different directions in the car. that way you know what it will sound like. i think you will be seriously disapointed with the sound if they are in the seats facing foreward.

I have a 99 HB and I point it to the front. It sounds good in my car. Pointing them to the back seemed to have more bass (bass bouncing off the glass), but IME, pointing them to the front provided what it seemed to me as a higher quality of sound. As always, YMMV.
YMMV = your mileage may vary
ok?
ok?
. (HTH)
Internet grammar is ridiculous IMO=In my opinion. Maybe there needs to be a H-T reference for this stuff. Up until a few years ago I did not really use internet boards or chat much. I considered myslef a veteran, but the abbreviations killed me. It took me months to figure some of them out since I never asked.

Which means. Your experience may differ from mine. It's not always the same for everybody. The same results are not always achieve, hence your mileage may vary. Hope that helps. (HTH)
You should definitely point them backwards, gives the waves more space to form and your bass should sound a lot more accurate. I'd only face them forward if I had some sorry *** subs, it would help them seem a little louder. To the back is the way for optimium sound.
