Default Why Scott Wants to be a Weatherman

Roebling Road back in February... Forecast - Rain all weekend. Actual - A couple of light drizzles, otherwise very nice.

Atlanta Autocross mid February... Forecast - Rain all day. Actual - Sunny and beautiful.

Road Atlanta, March 1/2... Forecast - Partly Cloudy Saturday, Rain Sunday. Actual - Rain all damned day Saturday, nice for most of Sunday.

Barbers, this weekend... Forecast at the beginning of the week - Partly cloudy both days, slight chance of rain (10%). Forecast now - Rain for the next 6 straight days.

WTF????
What other job in the world allows you to be totally wrong on a regular basis and remain employed? I could flip a phuckin' coin and get results as good as this. This is the damned job I want.

I guess I need to buy some damned dirt stockers. ****.

Scott, who'd really, really like to get some sort of opportunity to drive his new car on a dry surface at some point.

Thanks Scott... tomorrow looked good for me(at cmp) until you decided to go to the track this weekend... now there's a 50% chance of afternoon showers.
Well, maybe I'll get some dry track in the morning.

Scott,

You can never get TOO much rain practice. It will pay off later!!!!

What if the 03 ARRC is wet?

John- who got screwed last year with NO rain. It will happen again in 03 (No rain) with all the new, expensive rains tires bought and payed for.

I have two theories...
1. Weathermen are just plain horrible at what they do.
2. It's a scam to generate ratings. They farq up the initial forecast, then when they are wrong, we have to go back and check the local news for an updated forecast.

Either way, I stopped listening years ago.

Just learn to drive on slicks in the wet. Makes life so much simpler.

Scott, you just have to pick weekends when I'm there. Remember from last year? My good luck cancels your bad luck!

Matt (who hasn't done a track day in the rain since 2000, and it's not because of a lack of track time!)

Its not so mauch the rain (well... it is) as it is an inability to get even CLOSE to an accurate forecast.

At this point I'm taking every wheel/tire I have this weekend. Along with shorts, T-Shirts, Sweatshirts, Jeans, Heavy Jacket, and a poncho. I figure I'll either start my base tan or be wet and cold all weekend. Either is a possibility at this point.

Scott, who spent the whole day at Road Atlanta in his Sparco because it was the warmest piece of clothing he had with him.

Guys, just give me a call the day before a race. If I washed my car that day it will definitely rain the next day. If I wash and wax it, there will be rain for at least two days straight.

Yeah, but it's also more fun to learn a new track in the wet. Just think of the thrills of all the constantly changing lines, braking points, shift points and cornering speeds throughout the whole weekend, both because of changing (grip) conditions and because we won’t have any clue where we're going on a new track. Sounds like fun man! And I reserve the right, as always, to completely change my opinion after the weekend in case something happens to "not go as planned". See ya there. And do bring some dirt stockers!
